Series Director and Executive Director Danny Alpert accepted two Wilbur Awards from the Religion Communicators Council (RCC) in Little Rock, Arkansas! We are very happy to have won awards for both The Calling and What's Your Calling?.
The Religion Communicators Council has presented Wilbur Awards annualy since 1949. They honor excellence by individuals in secular media - print and online journalism, book publishing, broadcasting, and motion pictures - in communicating religious issues, values and themes. Winners receive a stained-glass trophy. The award is named for the late Marvin C. Wilbur, a pioneer in religious public relations and longtime council leader.
I've just returned from Albuquerque, New Mexico where we were filming scenes for Kindling Group's feature length documentary
Invisible People (working title). We spent time with Mark Horvath, our main character and the organization 100K Homes. We were there for the 100K Homes Boot Camp and Registry Week. The goal of
100K Homes is to find homes for 100,000 of the most vulnerable homeless by July 2013. We filmed Mark in action on the streets, conducting vulnerability surveys with Albuquerque's homeless population and gathering new interviews for his
website. His interview with Paul, which we filmed, is already posted on his site.
